Hello Everyone,

We are excited to be back for Year 2 of Grow Your Game Camp! The event will take place in Mandeville, Jamaica on August 8-10.

In August 2022, we hosted our first event. We had campers from St. Elizabeth, Clarendon and Manchester join us at Manchester High School for the 3-day camp. We hosted 45 players ages 10-18 (boys and girls). It was an amazing experience, and we are looking forward to making this year even better.

Basketball is a rapidly growing sport in Jamaica, and there are many kids excited to learn how to play. However, resources and opportunities are limited, especially in Central Jamaica. Working with coaches from Jamaica and the US, our goal is to connect coaches, learn from each other, and provide a new opportunity for kids to learn the game of basketball. Whether they are just being introduced or aspire to play at the high school or college level, there is an opportunity for them at Grow Your Game.

Where do the funds go?

We have a couple of specific needs that will allow our camps to attend camp for free. At the same time, we will have the opportunity to put together a great staff to give our campers the best experience possible.

1) Meals, Drinks, and Snacks-Campers are traveling from all over Central Jamaica with a long commute each way. Campe runs from 9-3pm each day. Donations will allow us to provide meals at no cost to our campers.

3) Travel Logistics for Coaches-Our goal is to build a staff of Jamaican coaches and coaches from the U.S. These coaches will be volunteering their time to work with our campers. Your support goes towards travel and accommodations for our staff.

3) Equipment- T-shirts/jerseys to camp goers, gear, basketballs, cones, and other equipment. These items will be donated to basketball programs in the area after they are used for camp.

Thank you for your help. This will truly be a team effort, and we are excited to have you with us as a part of it!!
