Help Us Take The Stage: A New Home for Take Part Theater Company
At Take Part Theater Company, we have always believed that educational theater is about more than just putting on a show—it's about creating a community, fostering creativity, and providing a place where our students can express themselves.
Over the past year, we have grown together, delivering productions that our kids will remember forever.
Now, we're ready to take the next step—and we need your help to do it.
What's Next for Us?
A New Space:
There’s no easy way to put it... we have outgrown our tiny house. Although we all love gathering for our traditional midday Summer Camp performances every Friday, as our class sizes grow, the option to host shows within our current space becomes more and more limited.
This summer, we tackled this challenge by renting alternative venues—an effective short-term solution, but not a sustainable one. Fortunately, a new and exciting opportunity has presented itself.
On the other side of Station House Square, a larger space has become available—three times the size of our current location. We have a plan in place to transform this space into a fully operational auditorium, complete with seating for about 115 people, and fully equipped for all our production needs.
But this space will be much more than just a theater. It will be a versatile hub for the Stratford community—a place where the arts can flourish in all forms. Here’s what we envision:
- More Performances: With a larger, dedicated space, we can produce more shows, giving our students more opportunities to shine and our community more chances to enjoy live theater.
- Expanded Programs: We can ramp up our flagship camp efforts, offering more consistent and engaging programs that will allow Stratford’s youth to explore their creativity year-round.
- Community Events: Beyond our own productions, this space will serve as a flexible venue for open mics, movie nights, and other events that bring people together to celebrate the arts.
How You Can Help:
To make this vision a reality, we’re launching this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $20,000. These funds are vital to:
- Securing performance rights for our upcoming season.
- Building new, reusable set pieces to enhance the quality of our productions.
- Hiring additional staff to support our expanding programs and ensure every student gets the attention they deserve.
In addition to offsetting some of our operational costs, a portion of these funds will also go toward furnishing our new space, creating a welcoming and fully equipped environment for all who participate.
This runway is essential for us to grow Take Part Theater Company, ensuring we can continue to expand our programs and deliver on high-concept, high-quality productions that our community has come to love.
