Florence, Annabel and Melina are participating in GROW A POUND as part of a Year 6 fundraising project at St Mary's and St Peter's School, Teddington.

The money raised will be split between two causes:

Firstly towards bear brothers, Benji & Balu, who have lived a life of misery in a tiny cage on the side of a restaurant in Azerbaijan. Bored, hungry and suffering from serious injuries, these bears were kept there as nothing more than a novelty to attract customers.

They have a chance for a better life at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight. £150,000 has already been raised to build a brand-new habitat for Benji and Balu and they now need to raise funds to secure a safe passage for them from Azerbaijan to the Isle of Wight.

The other half of the money raised from GROW A POUND will go towards funding Maths revision booklets and subsidising the production of Year 6 yearbooks to commemorate the children's time spent at their primary school.
