Help My Best Friend Jared Rebuild After the Willow Glen Apartment Fire

On Friday, July 25, a massive fire tore through the Willow Glen Apartments in Millcreek, Utah, destroying multiple buildings and displacing nearly 80 residents. The fire started from a lawnmower spark in dry brush and quickly spread with the wind, leaving devastation behind.

One of the apartments destroyed belonged to my best friend Jared and his girlfriend. They were not home when the fire broke out—and as of now, they haven’t been allowed back. But the news is already clear: they’ve lost everything.

Most heartbreaking of all, their beloved cats did not survive the fire.

What They Lost:

• Their home and every personal belonging

• All clothing, furniture, and everyday essentials

• Keepsakes and memories they can never replace

• Their family pets, who were like children to them

Jared’s girlfriend’s daughter is also affected by this loss, and they’re now facing the painful reality of rebuilding from the ground up.

Jared is one of the kindest, most loyal people I know. Watching him go through something like this—losing his home, his pets, and his sense of stability—is heartbreaking.
