SYMPLE is a groundwater education initiative founded in 2021 by a community of hydrogeologists from academia, public institutions, and professional practice. A core principle of SYMPLE is accessibility: through scholarships and free access, around 70% of participants come from disadvantaged contexts and are able to attend the full programme at no cost.

Spring to Life is a community of volunteer researchers, university professors, and coordinators of national and ministerial programmes working across Italy and Africa. Built on long-standing collaborations between research centres, Spring to Life combines scientific research with development cooperation, sustainability, and social justice, always keeping the needs of local communities at the centre of its actions.

Through this campaign, SYMPLE and Spring to Life join forces to support safe groundwater access for a refugee camp in Aboutengue (eastern Chad, near the Sudan border).

Your contribution will help fund the search for groundwater and the drilling of a new water well, while also supporting local groundwater training and capacity building, ensuring that withdrawal of groundwater is effective and sustainable over time.
