Groundspeak Farm Rescue Fund
On May 31, 2017, Claire Zimmermann's Groundspeak Farm was hit by a devasting hailstorm. Hail stones as big as tennis balls wiped out all 40 beds she had planted in spring and summer crops. While a few plants may survive and regrow, she is basically starting over, replanting and scrambling to prepare for produce sales at Rolling Prairie Farmers Alliance CSA and the Overland Park Farmers Market as soon as possible. Meanwhile, she needs to cover ongoing expenses already incurred, including rent and loan payments, as well as new expenses for replanting.
Claire is a beginning, small scale, regenerative farmer who isn't eligible for the kinds of subsidies and other government support available to large scale industrial agribusinesses. Please give whatever you can to this campaign to help out one more new farmer in a time when we need every one we can get. No amount is too little, as that is the power of community. This is one more way you can help community supported agriculture!
