Hi, we are a group of nurses from Louisville, Colorado fundraising for our friend and coworker, Becca Hedley. Becca is the type of nurse that you want to be by your side in any situation. From a code, to a child needing comfort during IV placement or procedure. Becca is a strong, fierce, bubbly, giving woman who found out on April 17th that she has breast cancer. The type of cancer she has will not respond well to chemo, so she is having a double mastectomy in June. Becca has insurance, but as we all know, insurance does not cover everything. There are copays and uncovered costs as well as the fact that she will be out of work for at least 8 weeks after this surgery and then will only be able to perform in a " light duty" capacity, which really isn't a thing in the emergency department. Becca has always been a very generous and giving person and we feel it is her turn to be on the receiving end. We want her to go into this surgery feeling both physically and emotionally strong, confident and not stressed over her finances.
