Hi we are Gritty Gaze, a Liverpool based production company taking our second show ‘Placebo’ to Edinburgh Fringe this year!

About PLACEBO:

Often used in clinical trials, the Placebo is renowned for its power of illusion, whether through the form of a sugar pill, a sham injection or an empty procedure dressed as a cure. Placebos thrive on one thing: belief. They can heal, deceive and manipulate, miraculously working against all odds to blur the line between medicine and illusion. Belief can be a powerful drug, and in a world coming undone, it’s all Stoner has left. This belief is fuelled by trust, dependent on perception – powerful when upheld, devastating when exposed. So when the mirage shatters, what will remain?

Gritty Gaze started 2 years ago with the goal to create outstanding theatre and give small creatives a chance to platform themselves as artists. Since starting we have managed to find our identity as a company and help local actors and creatives to get there first credit!

Last year we were lucky enough to win a 2024 SpaceUk Scheme that gave us the opportunity to attend Ed Fringe with no upfront venue costs. However, with our second round at Edinburgh Fringe Festival we funding it completely independently and would love your support to help us take our show up this year. Our ambition as a company is too financially support all of our creatives that work on our projects and we believe that platforming ourselves at worldwide festivals such as Ed Fringe can help us work towards our ambition.
