HER STORY
Griselda's life was full of challenges. Before her cancer diagnosis in 2014, she was the full time caregiver for her son who inherited a genetic disease called Huntington's Disease (HD) - A fatal genetic disease that kills brain cells and incapacitates an individual physically, mentally and emotionally. I met Griselda at an HD walk in April of 2013 and was saddened to learn that she had lost her grandson to Juvenile Huntington's Disease a month prior to that event. 12 years ago, Griselda's life changed forever when she discovered that two of her children carried the HD gene mutation and that her grandson had Juvenile HD. That in turn was the driving force that motivated her to become a passionate advocate for this cause. She was a relentless warrior that even after her cancer diagnosis kept taking care of her family and helped organize and attended HD events throughout California. People never realized she was fighting her own battle because she never complained about her situation. She was and will always be a bright light of hope that touched many lives. Her memory and inspiration will live forever in our hearts.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
In this difficult time, the family has accrued many expenses due to Griselda's funeral services. We are asking for any contribution in order for the family to give her a proper farewell. Any amount will help! Whatever is left over after all expenses have been paid, will be donated to a Huntington's Disease organization of the family's choosing. Thank you for your contribution and thank you for caring!!
