Ella Grinstead Hospital Stay

Donation protected
Ridge and Morgan Grinstead’s baby girl Ella Kate is 2 months old now and has had a rough life so far! She was born at 37 weeks via C-Section after Morgan was induced due to gallbladder issues. Once induced Ella’s heart rate kept dropping when a contraction hit so the decision was made to go ahead with a C-section. Once born her O2 stats were low and wasn’t quit coming up enough to make her pediatrician comfortable so she was sent via ambulance to Coliseum Hospital in Macon Ga where she spent 2 days in the NICU being monitored. Fast forward 4 weeks and sweet Ella has been having bad screaming fits that concerned Morgan and Ride. They went to her pediatrician who made the decision to swap her formula and add rice to her bottles because she was suffering from silent reflux. That didn’t help; the fits became more and more severe and frequent so 2 weeks ago on April 25 Ella was admitted to The Children’s Hospital Navicent Health in Macon Ga. There the doctor began doing small adjustments here and there to see if they could Get the reflux under control. The fits continued to get more and more severe so they decided to put a NG tube in (feeding tube) and that didn’t help so a few days later we advanced the tube further through her stomach into her intestines to try to keep anything from refluxing to get her some relief. They sent us hope that following Wednesday on May 1. We got home and still on the feeding tube with few fits the next few days. Come Saturday May 4 Ella began with another fit that lasted several hours. Ella’s GI doctor told us to come back to the CHOM and get admitted through the ER. Fast forward to today May 7th we have started loads and loads of blood work checking for Kidney, Liver, and Metabolic Diseases; we also did a full body X-ray to ensure we didn’t have any hairline fractures that could be causing pain as well as a CT scan to ensure there is no brain swelling or bleeding. Tomorrow the doctors will go in and do an endoscopy to ensure here is no blockages or things we need to be concerned with.

Morgan is not working and has spent all her time at the hospital since this journey began and Ridge has been by her side the whole time. Thankfully his job is fully of truly amazing Godly people! Funds are getting tight for them and we would like to help where we can! Any spare change would help this family greatly!

Thank you for reading their story and we promise to keep updates coming as we find them out!
