Griffin Taylor

Donation protected
I am making this to help a dear friend and her family after her father had to be hospitalized. Please read his story below, it would be a great help with any amount of donations or just a share. The fund will go to Shelby to help with any expenses she might have since Griffin was their sole provider. If anyone would like to send a cash app instead, you can send it to her daughter Jennifer at $jentay308, she will make sure Shelby receives the funds.

Griffin Taylor, 53, born and raised in Chocowinity/Washington, North Carolina is a well-known and generally, well-liked individual. He has been married to his wife, Shelby Taylor for over 35 years. They have built their whole lives together, sharing everything from the age of 18 on, including their 2 adult daughters, and 2 grandchildren. Griffin has always been the sole provider for the family. He worked for many years with GW Walker and & Sons, before starting his own business and being led to a subcontracting position from Chubby’s Carpet, where he has now been employed for over a decade. Griffin is well known in this business and has installed many floors and carpets all over the state, most of them being right here in Beaufort County, including schools and many doctors’ and dentists’ offices. Shelby has, primarily, always been the homemaker, staying home to take care of their children, and now her grandchildren. Although living paycheck to paycheck, Griffin has always been a great provider for his family, never letting them go without anything they needed or wanted. Their land was family land from Shelby’s father, where they built their home in the very early 90s. This is the home that they raised their children in and the only home that their grandchildren know as “Grammy and Granddaddy’s” house.

On the way to work on December 21, Griffin had to pull over as he started feeling bad. Thankfully his employees were with him and called the ambulance. After arriving at Vidant (ECU) Beaufort, he was hardly able to breathe or speak. His blood pressure was over 300, he was bleeding in the brain and had suffered from a stroke. Mr. Taylor was airlifted to Vidant (ECU) Medical Greenville, where they cut his skull to allow room for swelling and put a small tube coming from the front of his head to drain the blood from his brain. Griffin has been intubated, as it is essential for his recovery. He is considered in critical condition and is still in ICU, where it is predicted that he will remain for quite some time. He can communicate by nodding or blinking and following small commands like wiggling his fingers and toes but cannot do much other than that. His oxygen level recently had to be increased to 60%, setting his recovery back. It has also been noted that his memory does not seem to be accurate, which is scare on its own. This has been an extremely stressful time for Shelby mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. She is working hard to remain strong for herself and her children/grandchildren and she is constantly reminding Griffin that he is doing great and encouraging him to stay strong.
Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that Griffin and Shelby have no life insurance or anything of the sort to help them in these circumstances. Both of their children are single mothers, they are doing everything they can to help, but honestly, they need help themselves, as this has been a huge mental, emotional, and financial strain on all of them! This strain has affected both their personal and work lives. Unfortunately, it does not appear that any positive change will be coming in the near future, as Griffin will have to remain in the hospital for an unknown amount of time, and possibly have to undergo other treatments and/or stay in a facility of some sort.

The Taylors remain hopeful as they continue to pray and ask for prayers for their beloved husband/father/grandfather. He is missed greatly both at home and work. As this stressful period has seemed to make time stand still for the Taylors, it continues, and bills continue to come. As stated earlier, Griffin and Shelby – living paycheck to paycheck, with no life or health insurance or backup funds, now have zero income. On top of missing her best friend/partner in everything and the crippling pain that she is facing mentally and emotional; Shelby is left alone with a HUGE financial crisis.

They need to concentrate on themselves and each other now more than ever, and they can’t do that with the daily demands of life and the financial burden weighing heavy on their shoulders.
Shelby, with no income but the same amount of bills as everyone else, really needs some help! She does not want to lose everything she and Griffin have built over the past few decades.
Can we PLEASE help the Taylor family with this financial burden?!

Prayers and Well Wishes for Griffin Taylor and his wife Shelby, Daughters: Jennifer and Katie and Grandchildren: Ava and Alex
