This is to help with the costs associated with Griffey having Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery and the physical therapy that is required afterwards.

We moved to Ohio so he could have his surgery done at Natiowide Children’s as they are a world leader in this particular surgery. His surgery was on 9/16/25 and went great. The care there could not have been any better.

The road to recovery requires a lot of physical therapy. We are currently in Lititz, PA doing a 3 week physical therapy intensive session at Now I Can Foundation. When we get back to Ohio he will need to continue physical therapy for at least 12 months.

To be transparent, we could have chosen an easier and cheaper way to go about this. But we specifically wanted to work with Nationwide Children’s and Now I Can in order to give Griffey his best chance at success and recovery.

As his parents, we chose this route and we are completely willing and able to do whatever it takes to cover these costs ourselves. This was our choice. As far as we are concerned, our friends and family have done enough for us already. There is in no way, any expectation.

We are starting this fundraiser due to the overwhelming support that people have given us already. Many of you have asked how you can donate or help out.

Griffey’s surgery cost us $4550. His PT will cost us another $10k roughly as it is not covered by insurance.
