Grieving the Loss of Both Parents

As of January 2024, I have lost both my mother and father within a year and a half. I am devastated to announce that Noralynn Wilson passed on January 4, 2024 following Glen Wilson who passed away after a long fight with cancer on October 17, 2022. My parents were a huge support to me until the very end. Mom and I spent the last year on this journey of mourning the loss of dad together, doing our best to support each other through the ups and downs that come with a life lost. I could not have survived this last year alone, so now knowing that I have to go on without her here is a reality I am struggling to accept. Now that my mom has passed, my brother Jayden, my son Cayden and I carry on mom and dad’s legacy.

My father touched many lives during his time working in Adventist education and my mother did the same while working in the hospital as a nurse. They were always in the business of helping others before helping themselves and I try my best to instill this value in my son Cayden in their absence.

Our parents were people of faith and we have peace in knowing that as we process their deaths. Your prayers during this time are so important to us and we thank you for uplifting our family to God on our behalf.

Mom’s passing was completely unexpected, so covering the costs of memorializing her came unexpected as well.

We have waited to post this GoFundMe as we tried to navigate and calculate the various costs that come with her passing. We recognize how important the support of the community is during this time, so we are thankful for any way you are able to contribute during this time.

The fundraising goal calculated for this GoFundMe includes the cost for her memorial service and preparation of the body as well as covering the mortgage and other household expenses as we consolidate their assets in the coming months.
