Hi there, my name is M. My school unexpectedly gave me 48 hours to leave the dorm, and delayed giving me resources to find housing. I was stuck in Chicago with no access to the school’s class enrollment site during the snowstorm that delayed my flight, and was grieving three family members who had passed in the span of a month. I’ve tried negotiating with the school and they refuse to provide any support. I had been living in my dorm with my cat, and due to the job market in the area I couldn’t find a steady source of income. I’ve been beyond overwhelmed between grief and sudden homelessness. I don’t have friends or family to go to right now, I don’t have a car to get around, and despite confirming with the college I could return to the dorm with my food points and insurance, I am now confirmed a non-student with no access to anything. I have no money for food either. Any help is appreciated. I have proof of my flight cancellations, emails between staff and I, and my recent job searches. I’m still working to find a place to live, but right now, I have nothing and it is very cold outside. The school is threatening to consider me a trespasser if I stay inside.
