This fundraiser is being done on behalf of my loving strong mother. My mother Griceli Almanzar, began feeling discomfort in her abdomen early August, she was filling up with more and more liquid to the point when she had to be admitted to the hospital, where they performed a CT scan and showed a high chance of potential cancer. After the liquid drainage and biopsy, we took her to Florida, where another CT was performed and was confirmed that she has Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer that has metastasized to Abdominal Carcinomatosis.

My mother is the most selfless woman I know, always willing to help those in need whether related to her or not. As selfless as she is, as her only child it is my due diligence to make sure I can provide her with all the help she needs. We made the move from Louisiana to Florida to make sure she gets the best care possible. While our stay here, we have encountered an immense amount of financial distress, which has made this journey that much more difficult. I’ve had to spend a lot of time from store to store purchasing organic food and purchasing medication to ease her pain.

All in all, organic food and medication will help short term, but the long-term treatment that needs to be done starts with an injection called Ziextenzo conjoined with a chemotherapy session the day after. She will need 6 of each treatment totaling to a cost of just about $40,000 for only treatment cost. My goal is to provide her with the best options out there, and this is the beginning for us.
