On September 6th, 2025 Madeline and Gavin’s love story was altered forever when a Riverside County sheriff, going at a reckless speed, hit them leaving Madeline in critical condition and taking the life of Gavin just one month before their wedding. This date has forever changed the lives of many. 

As each day goes by, I see that this is going to be a very long recovery. Madeline has suffered many injuries. She has multiple fractures from the impact- her eye socket, jaw, rib, hip, pelvis and lower spine. She had internal injuries to her spleen requiring surgery, a punctured lung and a laceration to her face leaving a scar that will be a constant reminder. 

All of these injuries are horrific in themselves but on top of them, Madeline has suffered from Traumatic Brain Injury, requiring long term care. She will need to re-learn everything, from a simple task of learning how to swallow again to basic motor skills. 

We will soon be coming to an end of our insurance covering her care. Jason and I are ready to do whatever it takes for Madeline to have the best care needed. If you would like to support this journey, whether it be financially or through prayer, we are forever grateful.
