Hello, Our names are Justin and Theresa, and we truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story.
We are a family of 5 and have 3 children under the age of 3. We have two daughters ages 1 and 2 and are in the process of moving into a new home that can support our growing family.
We recently gave birth to our first son Greyson on May 23rd. About 2 hours after he was born the Doctor's realized Greyson was not maintaining his oxygen levels and were not sure why, so he was transferred to Children's Hospital where he underwent additional diagnostic testing. Greyson was ultimately diagnosed with (TAPVR) Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return which is a congenital heart defect where the pulmonary veins, which carry oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the heart, are not connected to the left atrium as they should be. Instead, they connect to other parts of the heart or other veins, preventing oxygen-rich blood from reaching the left side of the heart and being pumped to the body. This condition requires surgical intervention to repair the heart and restore proper blood flow..
It was unfortunately determined by his care team that he will need to eventually undergo open heart surgery. We do not have a date of the procedure yet but are hopeful to have more answers soon. Although this is hard for us to do, we are asking for some support from our family and friends to help cover some of the additional expenses we are going to endure from his medical procedures and hospital stays. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and greatly appreciate you all.
with Love,
Justin and Theresa.
