Grey’s First Wish
Greyson has announced his first wish today, 39 days after finding a large, high grade and very rare Embryonal Tumor on his left frontal lobe.
Grey's first wish is to have a “cancer dog” to help him through his Proton Therapy and Chemotherapy journey. We researched the best types of snuggly dogs to get for Grey and he chose a French Bulldog. He plans to use his dog to help other children with cancer, which I will explain further in the post.
Miraculously there is a breeder right down the road with a puppy that literally just became available today. I contacted the breeder and told her Grey’s story and asked if she could hold the puppy until the money was raised for Grey’s wish.
{EDIT: We chose a different Breeder and Frenchie puppy, pictured below. Please see update ♥️.}
Grey’s dog will be his sidekick as he undergoes treatment over the next 7 months. Research shows that dogs help cancer patients recover faster and better. I can already see it beginning to work because there has been a sparkle in Grey’s eye from the moment he chose his puppy.
Grey’s dog will be registered as a service animal and we will be looking into training him to be a “Therapy Dog” and the costs involved in doing that. Grey’s future goal for him and his dog to visit other children with cancer once he successfully completes his own cancer treatment. Greyson is already thinking ahead to help others in his situation which shows you how big his heart is and how selfless he is. We are looking into non-profit names for his future endeavor as a therapy dog owner and he is very excited about it.
I am asking Grey’s friends, family and everyone on Team Grey Matters to please share this so that we can raise the money to make Grey’s First Wish come true. Our goal is to hopefully raise enough money by next Monday so that Grey can go pick his puppy up after his 6th Proton Therapy treatment. This is 100% Grey's Go Fund Me, and all funds will go to his bank account.
Thank you everyone for your continued support and keep looking for updates on the Facebook Page, Team Grey Matters.
