As many of you know my older sister, Gretchen Yoder, has been struggle with a mysterious illness for almost 3 years now. Gretchen is a hardworking, optimistic, wife and mother of three. In March of 2016 Gretchen started experiencing unusual symptoms and her search for answers began. This illness has robbed her of her strength, stamina and caused her to have tremors all over her body for hours everyday. Sometimes these tremors last for 2-3 hours and sometimes up to 12 hours a day. 

After seeing many doctors and specialists Gretchen has recently been diagnosed with Sydenham's Chorea. This is an incredibly rare disease and while she has been working with some of the best doctors in Michigan they just don't have any experience with this. Unfortunately, none of the treatments she has gone through so far have worked. 

Gretchen has been given a wonderful opportunity to be seen at the Mayo Clinic in Florida, by two of the only doctors in America that treat this. She has her appointment scheduled at the beginning of Feb. This is such a blessing! Dan and Gretchen have paid for dozens of doctors and specialists appointments, dozens of test, and several experimental treatments. This illness has put a financial burden on their family through both costs and by taking away Gretchen's ability to work. We, their family, want them to be able to make this trip and for Gretchen to be able to get whatever treatment she needs, without worrying about how to cover the costs. We are asking for help raising funds to cover some of the costs of this trip (travel, food and lodging), as well as her treatment. This opportunity has given our family hope for healing and we want to help lift the financial worry so that Gretchen can focus all her energy on getting better. Thank you for supporting our family.
