It’s been said that when we help others we help ourselves. Gretchen Pressley-Scott is one who believes and lives by this principle. Gretchen is the administrative secretary for the School of Religion at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. For nearly 30 years, she has dedicated her life to helping thousands of young students meet their academic goals and become productive members of society. Gretchen is also the primary caretaker for her 3-year-old grandson, Kaiden.
Today, Gretchen faces a new challenge. She has been recently diagnosed with stage four breast cancer and is in an intense battle for her life. Gretchen is currently undergoing treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta. Part of her treatment includes the use of the BEMER (bio-electromagnetic energy regulation) machine. The BEMER machine is cutting-edge technology that uses oxidation therapy to help strengthen the immune system, cells, and vital organs. This device is especially helpful for cancer patients. Gretchen is also receiving Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), a process that research has shown greatly enhances the effectiveness of conventional cancer treatment. Neither of these treatments is covered by insurance.
Gretchen is scheduled to have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery following a series of chemotherapy procedures. Her long road to recovery will require several post-operative treatments. As part of her recovery, she plans to visit the Weimar Institute, a wellness center that focuses on nutrition therapy and teaches clients how to use nutrition as a means of staying well after bouts of chronic illness.
Our appeal to you is to please help us help Gretchen win her fight against breast cancer so she can continue to fulfill her passion of helping others and be there to raise her grandson. The sole purpose of this GoFundMe account is to raise $75,000 dollars to help Gretchen purchase a BEMER machine as soon as possible so she can use it indefinitely, as well as at home in between her travels from Huntsville to Atlanta for her cancer treatments; her trip to the Weimar Institute; and other postoperative expenses on her faith journey to recovery and healing.
Two biblical promises Gretchen is clinging to are Jeremiah 30:17, “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds, says the Lord,” and Matthew 19:26, “With God all things are possible.” We especially reach out to people in the faith community for your support and prayers. Your generous donations are greatly appreciated and will help Gretchen move beyond recovery and back to what she loves most, helping people in need. Thank you for your donations.
Sincerely,
Friends of Gretchen
