Greg’s Medical Journey

Donation protected
September 1st, 2024 our beloved dad and husband Greg Clifton was hospitalized with what was supposed to be a “simple” gallbladder removal accompanied by acute pancreatitis, which was projected to resolve on its own.

However, Greg remained in the hospital for nearly 10 months due to unforeseen health issues. In his time in hospitalization he has undergone a plethora of complications (necrotizing pancreatitis, a pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, bacterial infections, a heart attack, being put under a ventilator due to fluid buildup in his lungs, GI bleeding, and more).

Greg spent his hospitalized time in and out of the ICU, intermediate care, rehabilitation centers, back to the hospital, and finally ending up at a long term acute care facility before finally being discharged to go home. Needless to say, it has been a rocky road for him and our family.

On December 3rd it was found that Greg had head and neck cancer stemming from his tonsil. After receiving a PET scan it was discovered that the cancer has attached itself to his tongue and due to the placement is considered a stage 3/4. Since then, he has undergone several weeks of chemotherapy and radiation to hopefully help his body overcome this terrible disease.

On October 7th, 2025 Greg rang the treatment bell! Seven long weeks of chemo and radiation have been completed. He will have another PET scan in three months to find out if his cancer has been reduced or hopefully cured.

Greg is a fighter and has persevered through every obstacle thrown his way. After being bedridden due to his illness, he is able to walk with a walker (and for short distances, on his own) due to the miracle of physical therapy. He continues to make progress day by day and our family and friends continue to be so proud of him for working so hard.

We are so thankful Dad is still with us and we are so thankful for his willingness to fight through this journey. He is the strongest man I know.

However, my family is struggling. For the past year my mother has been paying bills for two off of one income. Bills have been piling up, especially with my mom having a job where she needs to travel out of town 4 days out of the week.

If you are able to contribute monetarily or even share with your friends, please do. Our family is so grateful for the support we have received this far❤️

Greg and his wife, Pam, who has been faithful by his side in his medical journey, have 6 children residing in various areas in Texas. Each child has worked very hard to visit him, support him, and be with family through this difficult time.

Any contribution toward Greg’s cause will be greatly appreciated. Monetary gifts will go toward medical bills, home, and utility bills.

For further information contact Kate Clifton or Pam Clifton on Facebook.

Thank you so much for reading about Greg’s journey and all the well wishes and prayers our family has received!
Also, thank you in advance for any contributions made!

 Much love,
The Clifton Family
