A few months ago our dad, Greg Pratt, had shortness of breath with severe coughing and congestion. His general doctor incorrectly diagnosed it as a chest infection. Greg’s symptoms worsened. He collapsed a couple of times before we convinced him to go to Johns Creek Emory Hospital on Friday, November 25. He collapsed again in the waiting room and was whisked into the ER. By God's grace, Dr. Greg Robertson who is a Interventional Cardiologist was there and immediately began tests to see what Greg was dealing with. Later in the day Dr. Robertson had Greg transported to Emory Hospital in Midtown where we stayed for the next 8 days. An advanced team of pulmonary and respiratory specialists including Dr. Robertson were there waiting for Greg's arrival.
The tests performed revealed multiple blood clots in Greg's legs. Some of these had migrated into his chest, attaching to the lungs, and others are partially blocking the right side of his heart. Three microscopic surgeries were performed and clot blasting drugs were administered. Older blood clots still remain in his lungs and open chest surgery will be needed to remove them from his lungs and heart.
A surgery in San Diego is planned on March 30th 2017 to remove these embolisms. Please pray for God's healing. We appreciate your prayers and concern for him and our family.
