Vet's home is unsafe; need upgrades
Donation protected
Meet Gregory, a US Air Force Veteran. Greg met the love of his life Katherine, in Kansas in the 60's. They started a family and soon settled in Pennsylvania. Currently he is 73, widowed, and lives alone on a small fixed income. In August, Gregory suffered a terrible fall in his home of almost 50 years. In the accident along with other injuries, he broke his femur bone. Since then Greg has undergone extensive surgery, treatments, and physical therapy. His rehab center, Westgate Hills, hopes to have him strong enough to return home by Christmas.
In the interim he needs our assistance with many obstacles. Our biggest is in updating of his old twin home so another fall will be less likely in his future. Insurance does not pay for any of the improvements that Greg needs to live safely in his house. My husband is a DIY guy which helps keep costs down, but just like many families, finding that money to update is incredibly difficult. We are trying to fit these surprise expenses into an already tight budget. His four children are doing everything they can to assist him. With the pending purchase of the new home stair lift, Greg's medical expenses, and the need for the home upgrades, a tremendous financial burden has been placed on the family.
Greg is looking forward to returning to his home and regaining his independence. We wish for our Dad to be happy and safe once again for this Christmas, and many more to come.
Any size donation is welcome! Every dollar truly does count. The $3,500 needed is for the cost of the stair lift. Any additional funds raised will be used toward the thousands of dollars he has acquired in medical expenses.
Thank you so much for your time, empathy, and compassion.
We pray all your wishes for this Holiday Season come true.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
