Hello, my name is Melissa and I am fundraising in memory of my father, Gregory L. Surratt, Sr. My dad was diagnosed with the flu and pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital on January 9. After many obstacles including a heart attack and multiple infections, he was unable to overcome the illness and passed away April 11, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones. My dad was a kind and caring person who would do anything for anyone. He absolutely loved working at his job at Everfresh Juice, where he was a hi-low driver for 19 years. Hiking in the woods was how my dad enjoyed spending a Michigan summer day. My dad loved old movies, Universal Monsters, and classic rock. He knew so many facts about the artists, songs, movies and actors, and loved to share them in conversation. If you have ever met my dad, you know that he absolutely loves to have conversation, laugh, and spend time with the people he loves most.

My family, unfortunately, was not prepared for the cost of a funeral or for the medical bills that came along with his care. I chose to set this fundraiser up in hopes to help my mom pay for his funeral and medical bills. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
