Hi Everybody,
As most of you know, Greg, who was known to us online as either Gregolian or Panda, passed away suddenly on March 9. Like many of you, I was an e-friend of Greg. He was as nice a guy as any we have known. Many of us have known him for 13 years or more, and no one has a bad story to tell about him. He was a mountain of love. He loved gaming, MMA, football, helping others, malamutes (especially his dog Chester who passed a few years back), gabbing with us online, anime, and his Japanese heritage. But most of all, he loved his parents. We have all mourned his loss, and a few of us wanted to do more for him and his family. Members of one of his Discord communities picked what we felt was a perfect place to memorialize Greg. It is part of the Japanese Garden within the Ogden Botanical Garden, and it includes a traditional Japanese pagoda, a cherry blossom tree, and a bench for quiet reflection. There will be a plaque indicating that it has been dedicated to Greg. The plaque will read: "Greg. Beloved son. Wonderful friend. Missed by all who were blessed by knowing him." We're hoping that his family and friends can and will visit, see a concrete reminder of how loved Greg was, and remember in fondness the good times we all shared with him.
