Gregorita Valencia Celebration of Life Expenses

Donation protected
Our sweet grandma, Gregorita Valencia, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on September 16th, 2023. Everyone who knew her knew what a joy she was to be around and how she loved Jesus and her family.

Rita was born in New Mexico, lived her childhood and young adult years in Utah, moved to the South Seattle area where she lived most of her adult life, and eventually would spend the rest of her life in Tyler, TX. She met her husband, Ray, in Utah when his uncle told him about a cute deaf girl he had to meet. Grandpa drove to Rita’s house in Santaquin, and knocked on the front door of the house of the girl who would become the love of his life. Nana and Grandpa would go on to have two sons, Ray Jr. and Robert, and would witness their boys get married and have families of their own. Thus their legacy began.

In recent weeks, Rita started losing her appetite and started developing discomfort. After taking her to see her doctor, we received a phone call with unthinkable results. Nana had pancreatic cancer. And it was everywhere. Among all the ailments going on in her body, dementia made it so hard for her to understand what was happening to her. In the last few hours of her life, Rita’s two sons, daughter in law, and grandchildren gathered in her bedroom and prayed, read scripture, and sang worship. She didn’t hear anything in her life on earth, but the first thing she did hear was the sweet voice of Jesus. What a gift.

Although we grieve, we are not without hope as we know our Nana is at rest with her Lord and friend. We are grateful to everyone who has reached out to share their love and support for our family during this time. Words cannot express how much it means to know how loved our Nana was. As we prepare for her Celebration of Life, we would appreciate any financial support that can be offered for the service in Utah. To all our friends, family, and anyone who finds it in their heart to give, we love you and appreciate you. Your generosity means a lot to us and we pray that God may bless you immensely.

Isaiah 35:5-10 [5] Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; [6] then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; [7] the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down, the grass shall become reeds and rushes. [8] And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. [9] No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there, but the redeemed shall walk there. [10] And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
