Penelope's College Fund

Greg Moss was many things to many people.

First and foremost, Greg was the father to Penelope Rose Moss. Penelope is the most precocious 5 year old you'll ever meet. She is smart as a whip, thanks to her school teacher parents. She is fun and funny, and wins over everyone's hearts. Greg and Penelope had so many fun adventures together; their most recent favorite was collecting frogs from Nana and Pop's new pond. Greg was loved very much by Penelope's mother, Kelly.

Greg was the first born son of Alfred and Mary. He started off as a troublesome little kid who went from having wooden spoons cracked over his behind, to graduating from the University of Maine and having a very successful teaching career. Greg made his parents proud, and they loved him fiercely and without hesitation. He was a permanent fixture for Sunday night dinners, and life without him will never feel normal.

Greg was the brother to his favorite sister, Jessica. Mauricio was proud to call him his brother-in-law. He was a great brother, very loyal and loving. Their most recent favorite visit was when Greg and Penelope came to California, where they all had great adventures and made some everlasting memories.

Greg was the guy that had the ability to light up a space and catch everyone's attention as soon as he entered a room. He was loud and bold, fun and funny just like Penelope, always with a story or anecdote or grammar-policing comment to make. He gave giant, hard, feet-off-the-ground bear hugs, which made you feel both loved and a little bit sore at the same time. He had a small group of friends that loved him dearly. He was a one-of-a-kind kind of guy, with a beard so absurdly large and manicured that it will be hard to forget.

Greg was his student's favorite teacher. To quote his Melrose High students, he was their "biggest supporter," he listened and really heard what they were saying, he was "unconventional" and humorous, and a huge inspiration to what sounds like a great group of passionate high school students. He wore bow ties to class on Tuesdays, and he will stay alive in his students memories.



Greg passed away suddenly on Monday, September 21st. It was unexpected, and his death will gravely affect his family and friends for a very long time. Due to this unexpected tragedy, there will be no funeral services. His family will be mourning privately at their Maine home.
