EDIT:
We just adjusted the total from $2,500 to $4,000 because when we first started the campaign, we were afraid to ask for anything but the bare minimum to cover our initial expenses during the first couple weeks of our father's healing. We have continued and extended the campaign so that we can have a bigger pot for my father to pull from. We have already started collecting extra for him so that he is not pressured to go back to work early (his work is physically strenuous - exactly what he should NOT be doing when trying to heal from a Triple Bypass and broken ribs).
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
On Friday, November 29th, Ava and I received terrible news that my father, Greg Pommerenk had a what is called a "Widow Maker" Heart Attack while driving home that day in Long Beach and crashed into a telephone pole. He was rushed to the Long Beach Memorial Hospital where he went through a preliminary operation on Friday night to open a valve to survive the night and then went through a triple bypass open heart surgery on Saturday morning.
Upon hearing the news on Friday, Ava and I desperately booked the first flight out of Southern Mexico in hopes that if our father didn't survive, that we would be there to see him at least one last time.
Luckily, he survived, but he is in critical condition and has a long road to recovery, which will require in-home care and extra attention at first that his wife cannot handle alone while working to support them both as he will be out of work for at least the next two months.
Ava and I have decided to share the responsibility of caring for my father for the first two weeks, and most critical time, of his healing journey.
Unfortunately, this experience comes with unforeseen expenses that we all need help covering. If you can donate anything towards the care of my father, we would greatly appreciate it.
