My dad, Greg Weihl, was a man of the universe. He loved to ask questions, especially if he knew there was not an answer. He loved to make others laugh, but even more than laugh he liked to make others think. He taught me to think for myself and to learn and grow. He taught me to question everything and take responsibility for my actions.

Greg fought a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure. For years he maintained his independence, patiently waiting for his turn on the Heart Transplant List. On Monday, May 10th, he finally got the call that they had a heart for him! If you did not have the pleasure of speaking with Greg during this time please know, he was over the moon with excitement!

The surgery went well, but Greg quickly experienced complications. On Monday, May 17th Greg lost his battle with the new heart.

I am thankful for all of the nights and car rides I spent discussing the big questions with my dad throughout my life. I know he saw death as life's biggest adventure. Greg would want us to celebrate his life, and that's what we intend to do!

Plans are currently very preliminary, but we would like to have a service and gathering outdoors this summer with music, storytelling, and art. We will laugh, we will cry, and we will wish Greg luck on his new adventure.

Donations will go toward funding the celebration, and any remaining funds will be donated to transplant research.
