Greg Powers-Cholangiocarcinoma Support & Research

My dear friend's father is battling cancer, and the fight will be long and taxing on him, and his family. Greg Powers (Pa Powers to me...) is a man known by many, and loved by everyone who knows him. He was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (a cancer in the slender tubes that carry the digestive fluid bile through the liver). This is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that often doesn't end in the way anyone would hope. He has started chemo treatments, and has had set backs with infections/sepsis and hospitalizations that is making the battle that much harder. As he continues to fight for the best life he can hope for, there will be copious amounts of costs for medical treatments, care and support for the best quality of life he can expect.

Knowing the Powers family for many years, and loving them so much, I want to start this to be able to support him, and everyone else so that they can focus his care, comfort and lives, instead of being concerned with all of the financial aspects that arise in these horrible situations. He has meant so much to me over the years, as well the whole Powers family. My love for my Pa Powers, Patty, Margaret, Greg, Joe, KK, Auggie and Emme goes so far. I love them all so much, and know that so many others do as well. Anything that can be contributed will be so greatly appreciated. As he continues on his fight for the best quality of life, and hope for as much life as possible, any funds will be used for additional care, medication and any other expenses that may arise.

As much as it breaks my heart to say, the diagnosis is terminal, but hope is never lost and the love goes so incredibly far. The funds donated will go to his medical expenses and other care needs so his family can be able to focus on loving him and enjoying all the time they have, which is unknown. Night care is needed sooner rather than later, daily care is a real possibility in the near future.

They are hoping to need help for a long time, any funds not used directly by the family will be donated to further research for earlier detection of this cancer, a cure for this horrible diagnosis and the hope that no other family has to fight this terrible fight, with the knowledge that this fight rarely ends well. Let's help Greg and the Powers family so they can enjoy all the moments of love, life and happiness they can have for as long as they can!!
