Family and friends....on Saturday Feb. 2 my daughter's husband Greg was hit by a truck while on his dirt bike in the desert. He was thrown off his bike and knocked out. Thankfully a couple good Samaritans discovered his body and called for help. Greg was airlifted to a trauma hospital and has been in ICU trauma care for 3 weeks with 12 broken ribs, two fractures in his spine L-3 and L-4, a black eye, and all four ligaments are torn in his right knee that will require a two part surgery and 18 months of recovery. The orthopedic doctor said normally with this much damage, the leg would be lost. It is a miracle he still has feeling in his feet. Only two doctors in California can handle the surgeries needed. The doctor also said that if he didn't have his protective gear on he would not have survived.
Thankfully Melissa has some health insurance for Greg through her work and Greg is receiving the care he needs but the family depends on Greg's income and with him unable to work I am reaching out to help them with rent and excess medical bills not covered. Thank you to those who are able to make a donation. Any amount is appreciated.
Greg is currently still in the hospital and will be there for a long while as he can not stand up and is in a lot of pain despite the heavy medication he receives 24/7. Please pray for his nurses and doctors and we ask for continued prayers for Greg as the road to recovery will be long and painful with surgeries and all the physical therapy needed ahead to make him well again.
Thank you,
With Love, Bob Chenowith
