Greg Sievers' Brain Tumor Fight
Donation protected
On Friday, May 3rd our father, Greg Sievers, was admitted into the hospital. He had collapsed with a seizure. He was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor in his temporal lobe.
On Wednesday, the doctors operated to remove a portion of the tumor and will be analyzing the genetic markers to determine the best course of treatment. The doctors have assured us that dad will be facing chemo & radiation therapies to try to reverse and shrink the brain tumor.
If you were to rank the best fathers in the world, Greg would be in first place. With 5 children and a wife, he has put his family first time and time again. He made sure we were happy and healthy before ever worrying about himself. He instilled in all of us the importance of hard work and perseverance. He's the toughest man we've ever known and we have faith he will fight this with every fiber of his being.
Financially, this medical concern is terrifying. From the gas to get to and from appointments, to the prescription medication, to the deductible and hospital stays. He will likely be laid off from work for an extensive amount of time. We are turning to you (our friends, family, and neighbors) for any support. We are hoping that Greg can focus on healing and not on the bills.
Please know: If you are not able to donate financially, your prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes are so appreciated. Dad likes to stay busy -- so these next months of taking it easy are going to really be challenging for him. He also is not allowed to drive because of the seizure. So, if you have the time and want to pick up the phone, I know he'd love a chat. If you're local and want to give him a ride to watch a high school track meet, it would mean the world.
We'll update as we can.
Love,
Megan, Mike, Jordan, Luke, Logan, and Arlene Sievers
