Greg Gee Memorial Fund

Donation protected
In the Spring of 2018, Greg Gee was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. After an almost year-long battle, Greg’s pain finally ended on April 2, 2019. The loss of Greg Gee is one that will be mourned by countless people whose lives he greatly impacted. Greg was a loving father of three, a dedicated husband, and an incredible friend and mentor to many. Not only did Greg leave behind his family, but also hundreds of Brothers of Delta Sigma Phi’s Beta Kappa Chapter.

Greg was never formally initiated during his time as an undergraduate, but he was instrumental in the founding of the Beta Kappa chapter at the University of Alabama when it resurfaced in 2008. Greg remained loyal to the brotherhood and chapter, stepping in immediately to help guide the undergraduate brothers. Not only was Greg there to help with endless projects around the fraternity house, he was there to be a mentor and friend to everyone in the house from the executive board to the new members. Going through college as a young man is a challenging and transformative experience that is filled with uncertainties. Whether it was an issue with school, relationships, jobs, or just life in general, Greg was the voice of reason and advice. Over the past 7 years Greg served as Chapter Advisor, ACB Housing Advisor, and Alumni House Manager for the Beta Kapp Chapter. He may not have realized it, but his most important roles in Beta Kappa were as a friend, mentor, and Brother.

In April of 2013, Greg was officially initiated as a Brother of Delta Sigma Phi. His service to the Fraternity and the members went far beyond what could ever be expected of a Brother. Greg left behind three children, Gregory, Jessi, and Joe and his wife Michelle. Anyone that knows Greg also knows his passion for DIY projects, meaning that he also left behind a house full of projects that need to be completed. Due to the nature of his illness, Greg was unable to finish much of what he was working on.

Greg sacrificed and dedicated an unbelievably substantial amount of time and energy for the betterment of the Beta Kappa Chapter and its Brothers, which is why this fundraiser is here today. All proceeds will be going to his wife and children to help cover the costs of the funeral, extraordinary medical expenses, and to complete the many projects left around the house. It will mean so much to give back to the family of a man who only knew how to give to others.

Greg will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed.
