In April of 2019 I had colorectal surgery to remove cancer and a good portion of my colon. Then, less than a year later in March of 2020, I lost my job as a General Manager of a casual dining restaurant due to Covid 19, which was a position I had held for twenty years . My store was permanently closed due to corporate restructuring during a chapter 11. In the business we call that putting someone "in the weeds", as we were all terminated without a severance package or any insurance. That was a bad day for many. Needless to say, the bank account is now looking thin.
Therefore I have begun in earnest planning my own business. In order to get Aunt Greg's BBQ truck off and running, I am humbly asking for any donation that anyone is comfortable with giving. I am looking at being frugal and putting the business into a pull behind food trailer. Monies are needed for overall operations and permits and licencing, and some equipment.
The name Aunt Greg came about innocently enough from my sweet niece Riley Kate. She got a bit confused about Aunts and Uncles when she was three years old. Somehow the name stuck, so I went with it!
While my needs pale to some that are out in the world today, I ask for your support for my family. I am looking to get this rolling within six to eight weeks. The funds that you provide will mean a new start for me. The bank accounts will have some dust in there, but with your help and God's amazing grace I am confident that I will be able to not only provide for my family, but in the future give back to my community and others in need. Many who will read this will be employees that I have had the privilege to manage over my thirty years in hospitality, and others will be family and friends. I cannot express in words what this new start (which has been somewhat frightening so far) will mean to me and my family. As I plan this business, I am excited about growing this little food trailer into a business that can help others with employment. Thank you for being my acquaintance or friend, and thank you in advance for any help that you can provide for this venture.
Sincerely,
Greg Faircloth /Aunt Greg
