Greg Conran in Memoriam

Greg Conran sadly passed away on June 24th.

Over the past few years he has had the pleasure of spending time with his family and grandchildren even with them based overseas, long distances from where he lived.

One of his grandchildren, Marcus, has a rare genetic condition called Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. Greg developed a special bond with Marcus which is hard to put into words or explain clearly but their relationship was a really special one. Marcus wouldn't normally engage with people readily but always seemed to connect with Greg. During a visit in March 2019 to SC he developed that bond even further. Even though Marcus isn't able to understand Gregs passing I am confident he will miss the video chats with him every week which usually involved lots of face pulling on the camera, which was their way of communicating!

As Marcus lives in Australia it seems pertinent to direct any donations to his local support organisation.  The Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Association (Australasia) Inc (CdLSA) is a family support organisation. They exist to support families with emotional support, a community, and quality information so they can make informed decisions. They also work to assist the accurate diagnosis of CdLS and promote research into the cause and manifestations of the syndrome. They have a strong relationship with the World Federation which brings together CdLS support groups from around the world.
