Greg Butler, a close friend and colleague, passed away unexpectedly last week. He was 40 years young and leaves behind his wife Selicia (Cici), daughter Graci (age 15), and son Gregory (age 13).

Greg was a good man and his family and friends are devastated at the sudden loss. While he had been ill recently, no one expected this.
Greg loved having fun with his kids, when it came to video games he was a big kid as well. He loved his animals. He was a great cook who loved to grill, cook , and bake for his family and friends. Always made enough to feed an army. He loved sports and was a huge Texans, Astros, Rockets and LSU fan. He and Cici enjoyed the NHRA and were huge drag racing fans.
You could always count on Greg. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved his family and they loved him. Words will never adequately explain just how good of man he was, but if you knew him the you experienced it first hand.
Last fall, the Butler’s home was extensively damaged by flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey and the family was just getting to the point of being able to inhabit it again. Recovery took a great deal of time and their financial resources were depleted by restoration costs and additional living expenses since they couldn’t occupy their primary dwelling. The stress of not being having a permanent place to call their own took its toll on all of the family, and all of it hit Greg particularly hard.
As I’m sure you can imagine, this is an exceedingly difficult time for Greg's family. But in addition to losing a husband and father, they have also lost considerable financial support. Unfortunately, Greg was without life insurance at the time of his passing.
This Go Fund Me campaign has been setup to financially assist his family in clearing outstanding debt incurred since the flooding and to establish an educational fund for his children. We (that is, myself and other employees of Vertex Energy where Greg worked) are soliciting donations among ourselves and the public to ease the monetary burden and provide a measure of security to his wife and children.
Thank you for your consideration. God bless you for your gift and generosity.
