Greensand Ridge walk for Gorgeous George
Hi there, in April this year my Nephew George was sadly diagnosed with an an aggressive brain tumour.
George is just 12 years old and on 29th April 2021 George was rushed to Addenbrooks hospital. George has already undergone a 10 hour operation to remove 99% of the tumour, showing huge bravery along the way. Unfortunately the prognosis for George has not been positive and following further tests it was confirmed he has an aggressive type of tumour called a Glioblastoma.
In July George completed 6 weeks of Radio and Chemotherapy which appears to have had a very positive outcome on temporarily keeping the tumour at bay for now. Sadly the nature of this tumour is such that it will inevitably return so this fund raiser has been started to help continue the fantastic work already done by friends and family to raise funds for pioneering treatment abroad.
On the 18th September 2021 myself, Gavin Sewell, Lee Begg and Robin Wilson will be taking on the Greensand Ridge walk in one go, the walk is Bedfordshire’s longest marked walk at 42 miles across gruelling country and woodland terrain.
