Hi, I’m Clare!
I’ve signed up for the Saundersfoot Triathlon Sprint — that’s a 750m swim, a 20k bike ride, and a 5k run. Sounds easy, right? Well… there’s just one small problem: I can’t ride a bike, I’m not the best swimmer, and I’m terrified of the sea!
So why am I doing this?
I’m taking on this challenge to raise funds for Greenhill Special School, a school for boys with additional learning needs. Many of our pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have faced significant challenges in their young lives. The funds raised will help provide opportunities and experiences they wouldn’t otherwise have — things that make a real difference to their confidence, wellbeing, and happiness.
This means a lot to me personally. My younger sister has autism and faced many barriers throughout her education. Seeing how the system failed to support her properly inspired me to dedicate my career to helping children with learning needs reach their full potential.
Every donation, big or small, will help us create brighter futures for these incredible young people — and motivate me to conquer my fears (and the sea!) one stroke, pedal, and step at a time.
