Hi, I am Katie Simons. This sweet girl posted here is my sweet little chosen neice Jacklyn. She was airlifted yesterday to Dallas for respiratory distress from Metapneumovirus. She started retaining Carbon Dioxide last night and was placed on Bipap. Her blood gases showed continue retention which led to an early morning intubation.

Bethnie and Eric Green have been struggling over many years to have a baby and we were all delighted when they announced their pregnancy in February of 2021. Baby Green’s due date was set for October but due to preterm labor, Jacklyn made her arrival super early (July) and spent several months in the NICU in Tyler. She has met every hurdle with the strength of a warrior and so has her parents.

Over this last weekend, she developed a cough and it just started to worsen from there. She was sent to the ER by her Pediatrician. The local rural hospital sent her Dallas for further treatment and that is where we are at now.

Eric Green is a contract worker and can take off but it is often unpaid leave and same with Momma (Bethnie) who had to exhaust her PTO with emergency childbirth and NICU time. The medical bills, transportation, accommodations, and food costs are going to be astronomical during this difficult time. Please help us provide for this sweet family who is going through such difficult times. Prayers that the warrior spirit stays alive and for full healing of our sweet punkin Jacklyn.

Whatever can be spared will be put to great use, even if it is just a well wish or prayer.
