Greek Orthodox Church Fire
On January 24th, 2023, Saint Isidoros Greek Orthodox Church suffered a tragic fire. Unfortunately, most of the interior of the church has been severely damaged. Most of the unique artwork and icons, some dating back to the 1800s were destroyed by the flames and smoke. The church that dates back to 1974, built by Bishop Petros of Astoria, is going to need total restoration.
Today's events are devastating to the parishioners that regularly attend services here. We have a very long difficult road ahead of us before being able to hold services again. We pray that with God’s help and with the help of our parishioners and community we will bring this chapel back to its former beauty.
