Greek Corner Accident Damage Fund

Hello, we are the Ladas Family who have owned the building at the corner of Damen and Augusta for over 30 years. We have also been serving the Ukrainian Village community at the corner restaurant, first Gyros Express and now Greek Corner, since we moved into the neighborhood. This past year the business has been handed to our loyal employee Henry Velasco to own and run. He has been doing an incredible job keeping the business afloat, continuing to serve great food and make improvements despite the challenges and hardships brought on by the pandemic.

Unfortunately, in January a drunk driver ran through the front of our building and into the Greek Corner. Just as we had finished and paid for all the damages done by that accident, on May 19th at approx 11.30pm another drunk driver plowed through the restaurant. This time the accident caused extensive damage to the property within the business as well as major structural damage to the building. Inspired by the support and encouragement of members of our community, we started this GoFundMe to help us cover the out-of-pocket deductible to our insurance for both the restaurant and the building. We think our insurance, State Farm, will cover the business loss due to the closure as they did last time. We truly appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to serving you once again.
