Support Grecia’s battle against Liposarcoma

Just when Grecia thought she overcame her battle with cancer, she received the fateful news that the Liposarcoma has grown back for a third time. A vibrant, driven, and kind soul, our daughter Grecia Rojas needs help in her fight against cancer for a third and (hopefully) final time. This fundraiser is to assist Grecia and her family with medical expenses and for the extended period of time away from work. Grecia was diagnosed with stage 3 liposarcoma in 2018. After removing the tumor and going through radiation therapy, we thought she had already passed that difficult stage. However, in 2021 another tumor formed in her left lower back where she had a second surgery to remove it. We all thought this nightmare would finally end but unfortunately for a third time, 4 new tumors have regrown, with the largest one pressing against her spine. After countless medical bills from the first two times, we kindly ask help for this third time to finally win her battle against cancer.

The tumors have grown so large that Grecia can no longer sleep on her back or even drive herself to work without trouble. She’s in pain every day, but she still shows up for her patients as a chiropractor, pouring love and healing into others while silently enduring her own battle.

While chemotherapy is the only option U.S. surgeons will consider before surgery, Grecia has made the difficult and informed decision not to pursue chemo due to its long-term side effects and the way it breaks down the body in the process of trying to shrink a tumor. She’s chosen a more holistic, integrative route.

Unfortunately, insurance will only cover chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery—and only if chemo comes first. That leaves Grecia with no covered options in the U.S.

We all know she is never one to ask for help, but she is in need for all of our contributions no matter how small.

Apoya la lucha de Grecia contra el Liposarcoma

Justo cuando pensabamos que Grecia había superado su batalla contra el cáncer, recibió la desgarradora noticia de que el liposarcoma habia vuelto por tercera vez. Grecia, una alma vibrante, decidida y bondadosa, necesita nuestra ayuda en esta tercera y (esperamos) última lucha contra el cáncer. Esta recaudación fondos para apoyar con los gastos médicos y el tiempo prolongado que estará sin poder trabajar.

A Grecia le diagnosticaron liposarcoma en etapa 3 en 2018. Después de remover el tumor y pasar por radioterapia, pensamos que ya había superado esa etapa tan difícil. Sin embargo, en 2021 se formó otro tumor en la parte baja izquierda de su espalda, donde tuvo una segunda cirugía para removerlo. Todos pensamos que esta pesadilla finalmente había terminado, pero lamentablemente, por tercera vez, han vuelto a crecer 4 nuevos tumores, siendo el más grande uno que está presionando su columna vertebral.

Después de acumular innumerables cuentas médicas en las dos primeras ocasiones, hoy pedimos humildemente su apoyo una vez más para que Grecia pueda ganar finalmente su batalla contra el cáncer.

Los tumores han crecido tanto que Grecia ya no puede dormir boca arriba ni manejar sola sin dificultad. Está con dolor todos los días, pero aún así se presenta a trabajar como quiropráctica, brindando amor y sanación a otros mientras ella lucha en silencio su propia batalla.

Aunque la quimioterapia es la única opción que los cirujanos en estados unidos consideran antes de una operación, Grecia ha tomado la difícil pero informada decisión de no seguir ese camino debido a los efectos secundarios a largo plazo y al desgaste que provoca en el cuerpo mientras intenta reducir los tumores. Ella ha optado por un camino más holístico e integrativo.

Lamentablemente, el seguro solo cubre quimioterapia, radiación o cirugía —y únicamente si se hace la quimioterapia primero. Eso deja a Grecia sin opciones cubiertas en este pais.

Sabemos que Grecia nunca ha sido de pedir ayuda, pero hoy la necesita. Cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea, marca la diferencia.
