Great north run for my Dad

As some of you may know my dad suddenly passed away March 5th 2023 by suicide. I turned 19 the same day. My own life and my families life changed forever.
I don’t think anyone really understands how it feels to loose an immediate family member until it happens, let alone to suicide.
Everyday we still have so many questions with no answers, the pain is unbearable and we get no closure. My dad was kind, soft hearted, a joker, outgoing, funny, friendly and I think everyone who knew him can vouch for that and much more. Words can’t describe him , he was one of a kind.
My dad left behind so much and if only he could have seen that he may still be here. He never spoke up and he never voiced enough, no one seen how deep this was until it was too late.
I miss my dad everyday and I now have to live without him longer than I’ve known him.
whos going to walk me down the isle?
my children will miss a grandad
he can’t see his friends grandchildren , the list is endless.
so to help prevent suicide and reduce mental health struggles I’m running the great north run in September 2026. If I can make the smallest donation for a big cause it’s a win. Mind work around the clock for mental health support and they are the leading charity.
Even if you didn’t know my dad or have the privilege to meet him , please donate. Every little helps.
Sometimes mental health doesn’t show signs so please reach out and check on friends and loved ones before it’s too late.
thank you
Alana
