Three years ago I ran my first GNR for St Benedict's Hospice Charity as part of a team, grateful to support a great charity right on my doorstep.

Little did I know, how important this hospice and the amazing work they do would soon be to me and my family.

As many of you know my dad, Eric, was unfortunately diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour in January 2024. Despite his brave fight, he sadly died in January 2025.

The care he received and the support we were given as a family during his final weeks at St Benedict’s is something we will never forget. Sometimes it just the little things that make the big difference - a pull out bed in his lovely room to allow my mam to stay with him overnight, the cups of tea and little treats, the fact we could make visiting work around Tara’s A&E shifts ❤️

I will be running the GNR again on September 7th 2025. This time I will be running for Dad, and to raise money to say thank you to St Benedict’s and all that they do.
