Call us Daft!! The Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon - 'The Quad' as its affectionately known - is a daunting test of stamina, strength and fitness through one of Scotland's most breath-taking and historic areas. myself and a friend Conor have taken on the challenge in July 2022 as Team 'Humpty and Numpty'.

Playing out both in...and around Loch Tay it is a one-day endurance test for teams of two. Both team members must complete: 0.8 mile (1.3km) swim across Loch Tay, straight into a 15 mile (24.2km) run/hike over 7 munros (Scottish mountain above 3000ft) in the Ben Lawers range, Leading straight into a 7 mile (11.3km) kayak up and across the loch, and the final push a 34 mile (55km) cycle round the loch back to the start point.
the event supports Marys meals who do outstanding work in 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean. Their vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things. Just £15.90 (€18.30/$21.00) feeds a child for a whole school year.
My chosen charity Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, formerly Yorkhill Children's Charity holds a place very close to my own heart and that of my family. I was an in-patient at Yorkhill hospital Renal unit in Glasgow for the best part of 7 months as a 10yr old, and an out-patient for another 8 years after going into kidney failure. theres no possible way for me to thank the nurses, doctors and all the staff enough for the outstanding work they do, not only in the care and treatment they provide, but in making the whole environment that little bit less scary for the kids and the parents. By raising even the smallest amount for the charity id like to try and give something back, hoping they can continue to work miracles for families across the country.
if you would like to support us in raising money for these amazing charities then please dig deep and donate to our page.
Many thanks, and i hope you enjoy our suffering!!
