11000 Km by cycling and running
A team of members from Great Eccleston Cricket Club will complete an impressive accumulated distance of 11000 Km by running and cycling in order to raise funds for the village club.
Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 there has been no cricket this season. During the winter, the club made ground improvements by erecting a new fence and building a new double garage. It is our aim to ensure that Great Eccleston CC will return to thrive with its four senior teams and its magnificent Junior section; seeing over 80 juniors and families enjoying the club.
With your support, we hope to raise funds for the Village club by the team cycling and running a total distance of 11000 Km within 31 days whilst visiting all 50 Palace Shield club grounds on their way, including Barrow and Penrith!
The target distance reflects the total of runs scored, wickets taken and catches made by Great Eccleston last season and we hope to beat that. To show perspective, it is a little further than flying from Great Eccleston to Feroz Shah Stadium in New Delhi, India, and back. Also it is the equivalent of running 622328 quick singles!
