Great Birmingham Run in aid of The Barnaby Webber Foundation

Hi.

We are Issy, Grace, George and Amber, and we are running in the Great Birmingham Run (Half Marathon) on May 4th in aid of the Barnaby Webber Foundation; a fantastic charity which supports young people who are facing life challenges and provides equipment to grass roots cricket clubs.

We all attended Taunton School and knew Barney, as he was in the year above us. We were shocked and saddened to hear about his brutal murder in Nottingham on 13 June 2023, just as we were all finishing our A Levels.

We are all studying at Uni now, about to finish our first year as Barney was when his life was snatched away. Processing what happened to him and going off to university ourselves in the years following that dreadful event has been particularly difficult for us, having spent a significant part of our lives in the embrace of Taunton School.

Taking part in a half marathon seemed like the perfect opportunity to challenge ourselves and to do something positive in Barney’s memory. If you are able to sponsor us, it would be fantastic to help support the foundation and keep Barney’s legacy shining bright.

In the words of Walt Disney, we must ‘Keep Moving Forward’ and we will certainly be doing that as we tread the streets of Birmingham on Sunday 4th May!
