7 Month Old Baby Grayson’s Cancer Battle

July 1, 2020 at 10:30pm my cousin took     their 7 month old son Grayson to Grand River  Hospital in Kitchener ON due to his little tummy being bloated and extremely hard. Throughout the night the doctor ordered an xray and noticed a mass in his stomach. Immediately they transferred him to McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton ON. Once arriving at McMaster Children’s         Hospital they started doing blood work,         scheduled an ultrasound, CT scan, biopsy and a bone marrow test. July 3, 2020 Shauna and Josh received the  most devastating news any parent could       possibly receive; precious Grayson, their little miracle rainbow baby was diagnosed with cancer however the team of doctors could not determine the type until they got results of the biopsy.  While having to wait for the biopsy results Shauna & Josh was advised it was an aggressive form and chemotherapy had to start immediately to stop the growth since surgery was not an option due to the size and location. The biopsy report confirmed it is a rare form of cancer; malignant rhabdoid tumor.  This   form of cancer is very aggressive.  It can be treated with chemotherapy but it is difficult to cure.  Grayson has a large tumor which     originated in his kidney.  He also has tumors attached to his liver and lungs.  Doctors are hoping to administer another chemo             treatment next week once his white blood cell count increases. The family has a very long and difficult road ahead of them. Shauna and Josh has more than enough stress on their plate right now. Josh is now off work and will not be returning to work anytime in the near future.  His priority right now is to be with Shauna, McKenna and Grayson.  Shauna has been off work since early in her pregnancy with Grayson due to 4 previous miscarriages as well as a stillborn at 36 weeks to precious Lucas.  They need each other right now and focus all of their time and energy on baby Grayson while spending time with McKenna at the Ronald McDonald House.  Now is not the time for them to worry about their mortgage and bills.  This is the furthest thing from their minds.
