Help with Graysons medical costs
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Thanks to this go fund me it reached ASH and they have now approved Grayson for the HEN program ( Home Eternal Nutrition )
This has allowed Grayson to also be approved for a pump! Unfortunately this morning (2/6) Grayson took a trip in the ambulance due to a large projectile vomit which he then choked on and aspirated again. He’s on high priority for a bunch of different tests but is needing to continue his antibiotics longer as he’s at risk of pneumonia. He’s nil by mouth until further notice as he’s marked unsafe to swallow. The go fund me will now be changed to help fund his ongoing medical costs of medications and supplies where needed. Brendan and I are beyond appreciative to everyone for their help of donations, shares and thoughts. If anyone would like their donations refunded please get in touch with me and I can organise for that to be done.
Hi everyone, some of you may know about Grayson and his difficulties of feeding since he was born. Graysons currently has a feeding tube to help him gain weight after being admitted to hospital for failing to thrive multiple times from as little as 4 weeks old. Graysons diagnosis is currently still a mystery meaning his tube feeding will become more of a regular thing. The week of the 26th Grayson started refusing to take his bottles orally and projectile vomiting ( nothing new but got progressively worse ) as well as a rattling sound in his chest. This resulted in another hospital admission to where he underwent a chest x ray and showed that he is aspirating when drinking his milk orally. ( milk going into his lungs ) With the hospital being unable to supply a feeding machine for Grayson during this difficult time they result to us doing what is called a gravity feed.. holding a syringe full of milk up in the air attached to his feeding tube to run through with gravity and time. This is great if he is fast asleep… the trouble we run into whilst doing these are outnumbered. If Grayson is the slightest un settled the milk doesn’t run through and does the opposite and brings stomach content back up through the syringe. Night times are a struggle with the feeds taking up to an hour to run through and trying to not fall asleep whilst holding it becomes quite difficult when you are sleep deprived and end up pouring it on yourself from falling asleep. We are hoping that even if you could donate a small amount we can work towards getting Grayson a pump to help benefit us all. These machines are ranging anywhere from $3k onwards and with little Grayson being admitted to hospital so often it’s preventing both Brendan and myself from working and earning an income to keep on top of it all with other medical expenses. Even if it’s $5 you can donate we would be super appreciative to you helping us make this goal happen.
Much love Taia, Brendan, Xavier and Grayson xx
