Graycen Goes to D.C.
My name is Graycen and I am a rising senior in high school. Over my high school years, I have competed on a mock trial team and have developed a passion for law. I am especially drawn to the idea of representing those that cannot afford appropriate representation, because I believe that all people are image bearers of God and deserve someone to represent their dignity of life.
Recently, I have been accepted into the Advanced Law & Trial Internship Summit that will take place in Washington D.C. at Georgetown University, starting July 15th. This is a first-of-its-kind program that pairs motivated high school students with real attorneys and clients on cases of national importance for hands-on legal experience. In this accelerated internship, I will spend seven days researching discovery and trial strategy for a case involving gender discrimination against female government employees. In addition, I will be given the opportunity to meet with many other legal and political mentors. I will receive individual counseling on college and career opportunities, $1000 in tuition assistance, free SAT/ACT training through TestRocker, college essay editing assistance, two letters of recommendation, scholarship application assistance, and more. This is genuinely an experience that will begin my journey towards fulfilling my dreams of working in advocacy law and I could not be more excited.
Like most accelerated internships of this kind, there is a high tuition cost. Through this page and several fundraising efforts in the next month, I am hoping to raise all of the tuition and travel expenses needed to make this opportunity a reality. Also, I am asking for your prayers as I take this step and as I continue seeking this path for my life. There are many decisions regarding my future in the next year and I am grateful for those that will be praying with me.
